I Want to Think

I want to relax and think

I have to put this phone away

for in social media I am lost

indulging is not beneficial

I want to compose verses

best words in perfect proportion

conceived and composed in the soul

That which lacks sentences but has lines instead

missing paragraphs, stanzas now conspicuous

I want to write the speeches of angels

that attempt to tame animals and summarize emotions

starting in delight and ending in wisdom

lines more philosophical
of higher value than history

I have to relax and think

I must put this mobile gadget away

as the poet's pen touches the pad

and spits out a creative flow of ink

I will write that which is gebuine

that which is the very image of life

expressions of eternal truth

I will not be distracted

let facebook be, I will face the books

I will handle the pen and renounce Instagram

what is up in whatsup will not be my business

In serenity the poet's pen

will prescribe remedies for hearts that hurt

in tranquility will recollect emotions

emotions that flow from the heart

I release myself from social media

I detoxify myself from all toxins
